Quenching Oils And Polymer Quenchant

Oil Quenching is a process of rapidly cooling a piece of metal in order to achieve or modify specific properties like hardness, strength, or toughness. Rapid cooling minimizes the amount of time metal spends at high temperatures and prevents faults that would otherwise occur.

Polymer quenchants are water-based solutions and are used as quenchants for baths and sprays (mainly with induction hardening). The most common polymer quenchants are based on acrylates and glycols.
